Veterinarians | Dr. Emy Shepard
A native of Charlotte, Dr. Emy Shepard began practicing medicine at Matthews Animal Clinic in 2003. Before joining the staff at Matthews, Dr. Shepard practiced medicine at Pineville Animal Hospital from 1999 to 2000 and at Village Animal Hospital from 2000 to 2003.
Dr. Shepard is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she earned a Bachelor's Degree in Biology. She went on to attend North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1999. Dermatology is among her many professional interests.
Dr. Shepard loves outdoor activities, including hiking and golf, as well as spending time with her husband, Kris, their two daughters, Madeleine and Ava, and son, Andrew. The family also includes two cats, Abbey and Lily, and a dog named Sydney.
