The prospect of determining whether your pet needs emergency assistance can be overwhelming and frightening. That's why the medical team at Matthews Animal Clinic advises you not to hesitate; contact us immediately in the event you feel your pet's medical condition is serious and cannot wait. You can also consult the following list of symptoms to help determine if you need to seek emergency care for your pet. We suggest considering emergency care if your pet exhibits any of the following:

  • Bleeding
  • Labored or noisy breathing
  • Difficulty urinating or defecating
  • Seizures or collapse
  • Ingestion of toxins or foreign objects
  • Inability or difficulty walking
  • Trauma such as bite wounds or being hit by a car
