Your Pet's Dental Examination at Matthews Animal Clinic

Your dog or cat can have dental diseases and problems similar to people. Regular dental cleanings can help stop the build-up of plaque and tartar in your pet's mouth and prevent the spread of periodontal disease, which can lead to more serious health problems, including liver, heart and kidney disease.

We offer extensive dental care for pets, including dental scaling, polishing, tooth extractions and digital dental radiology. During a dental cleaning session, our veterinarians also will discuss with you how to best care for your pet's teeth at home.

To be sure you are doing all you can to protect your pet's health and keep him or her feeling great, please make regular dental examinations and cleanings a part of your pet's regular preventive care plan.

Signs of Pet Dental Problems

Symptoms of dental disease include:

  • A yellowish-brown crust of plaque on the teeth near the gum line
  • Red and swollen gums
  • Pain or bleeding when your pet eats or when the mouth or gums are touched
  • Decreased appetite or difficulty eating
  • Loose or missing teeth

If your pet is experiencing any of the above symptoms, please call Matthews Animal Clinic today for an appointment.
